Welcome to Neighborhood Lit.!

Summer - Pre-K and K-Readiness

Through movement-based games and hands-on activities, students will be introduced to components of the literate world around them.

Summer sessions include weekly lessons focused on specific reading, writing, and letter learning objectives that include:

  • Letter/sound relationships
  • Upper and lowercase letter matching
  • Phonics
  • Phonemic awareness skills (i.e. syllables, sound isolation, blending, etc.)
  • Writing letters and words
  • Word building
  • Beginning spelling and much more.

Weekly newsletters and at-home work are provided to keep caregivers in the loop and provide additional opportunities for the kids to practice these literacy skills outside of class.
